Installation & Handy Tips

1. Installation is very simple! Upload the MembershipSiteScript.zip to your domain or installation location using CPanel file manager or FTP. Extract the MembershipSiteScript.zip file.
   
   For beginners follow this:
   
   In either instance you would navigate into the domain name folder using your File Manager or FTP. Your domain is "obviously" named /yoursite.com or if its your only default domain for your hosting account your site folder will usually be the /public_html/ folder. Make sure this is your site directory.
   
   Once you are there click "upload" from your file manager or FTP options. New upload page loads (File Manager ONLY), click browse select the membershipsitescript.zip file and upload it. Once upload is complete click refresh button ("circular arrow" ) in your file manager display. The MembershipSiteScript.zip should now appear in your folder, click it, it "highlights blue" then click on "extract" from your file manager or FTP options.
   
   It runs off MySQL database, a feature that is available in almost every web-hosting console admin. So before you start the installation just use the MySQL Data-base step by step WIZARD in your web-hosting CPanel to easily setup your first data base and write down the database name, username and password. Then you're ready to install it.
   
   Then simply just visit the yourdomain.com/install folder in your web browser and follow the step by step installation wizard. When you are done don't forget to delete the "install" folder to avoid hacker attacks. Do this by navigating to your site folder as you did before using FTP or File Manager, click/ highlight the "install folder" and click "delete" from the File Manager or FTP options.
2. It works best if you are using your own domain email address as it runs off Mail(); functions in the PHP mailer codes. There are settings to by pass this should you want to use something like a Gmail email but it takes more time, so I just set up default site email first and the site works just fine using that.
3. Set a cron job in your CPanel using cron jobs feature page. Set up new cron job for 00*** or Once A Day from the Common Cron Jobs drop down list. Set Url/command to:
   
   php /home/Control_panel_Login_Username/public_html/yoursite.com/admin/cron-job.php > /dev/null
   
   *Use /admin/ as your folder name only if you did not change the name of your admin folder during installation as their is an option to change it to whatever you would like to call it.. If that is the case enter the actual name of the admin folder you chose not /admin/
   
   **NOTICE IMPORTANT********************************************************************************* Sometimes your web host will set your Full Directory Path differently to above format. To check it, if using cpanel goto file manager and top left check your directories path. You might have starting directory of /home, /home2 or /home3 etc. Also check that your site is actually in the /public_html/ folder, if not you might just need to use
   
   "Example only"
   
   /home/cpanel_username/mysite.com/admin/cron-job.php > /dev/null
   
   as the path and not include "public_html/" part else just ask your web host for your "full directory path" to "yoursite.com/admin/cron-job.php" not the url path. *************************************************************************************************** Click Save Finished!
